our mom made these. and now we do! one of the only recipes i've not been able to improve on. 1 can crescent rolls 1 block cream cheese, room temperature 1/2 small sweet onion, chopped 1 package breaded protein (could use chicken, fish, or faux-chicken nuggets. i think it's great with the faux-chicken) unroll crescents, separate. completely cook (or warm up, in case of faux-meat) meat/"meat", chop up in 1/2" bits mix chopped onion, chopped meat/"meat", cream cheese together. stir in pepper and/or other savory spices (try curry, italian seasoning, creole seasoning, ...) wrap mix in crescent roll, sealing thoroughly. optionally, top with brushed-on melted butter and/or bits of stuffing bake til golden brown. eat. almost as good cold as warm.
